The Chelsea Flower Show was the main purpose of our London visit this year and from the moment we checked into our apartment in Chelsea we felt the Flower Show spirit all around us. The accompanying Chelsea in Bloom is a festival of floral displays by its local retailers. It is now in its eighth year and the streets of Chelsea are a joy to walk around from 20th – 25th May. The retailers compete for the coveted awards with a display of extraordinary floral designs.
This year’s Chelsea in Bloom theme is the ‘Decades’ and celebrates the centenary year of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The floral displays reflect iconic periods of British design, whilst taking inspiration from participating retailers’ archives from the past 100 years.
Last year’s winner was Liz Earle, and 2012’s highly awarded stores were Ted Baker, The White Company, and Hackett.
See the 2013 results at the end of this post.
