Not an inspiring view of our Tasmanian house but here’s the cliche, watch this space. We are improving with a new ensuite bathroom. Last year we remodelled the kitchen and the bathroom in the guest quarters. The bathroom we have been using has a door facing right into the living room, absolutely not our ideal as we did not have any privacy leaving the master bedroom to go to the bathroom.
John spent two days hacking out the huge clumps of spiky Aloe Vera next to the fence so we could eventually put in a path and new plants. He was a few days too late as the builder told us he was being very careful putting in his guide posts as he thought we wanted to keep the plants.
John bending over down the back clearing the last of the Aloe Vera.
Last year we came up with a design and drew up the plans with the help of Michael Eastwood, he is a local registered designer who lives in Scamander and has an office in St Marys. We lodged the plans through our Break of Day Council and then went through all the necessary steps of compliance; advertising with a sign, paying the fees and waiting for the approvals. Our builder Peter promised to start as soon as we arrived and he kept his word.
The floor down, next the wall frames.
Looking forward to having a view of the sea from the bathroom. John lending a hand. A beautiful day and I could not resist walking on the floor to the edge to have a preview.
The view from the existing window in the master bedroom that I hope to improve. We will be ripping out the bedroom window and having a large opening into the ensuite. Cannot wait to post more pictures of our progress.
