My chocolate life

It is on a prominent corner

We thought the Valrhona chocolate shop in Brussels was going to be the best chocolate shop but we were mistaken.
It is Pierre Marcolini. I asked at our hotel where to go and make sure they are sending us to the very best. I am a bit demanding when it comes to chocolate. Our hotel manager had no doubts where we should head, adding that when the French President comes to town, a gift from Marcolini is presented.

My meagre purchases

I would have liked to be given a gift from here, specially in the big black round hat boxes.

Macarons are so very fashionable

The photos tell the story, we bought some single origin chocolates and a bar of vanilla bean flecked marshmallow, I am a softie for the latter.

The packaging entices you to break rules

The building had two floors of chocolates to choose from so it was impossible to leave without buying.

Single origin chocolate and what to select, if you lived nearby you could work your way through it all.

The simplicity of the single origin packaging makes sense. Pierre Marcolini knows how to pick graphic designers.

There has to be a chocolate here you would love

We will be topping up at the store they have in Antwerp as soon as we get there.

    Hello Roz,
I like these exquisite chocolates on these photos. My mouth waters….
Even the interior of the place in Ontwerp is going with the chocolate. Happy travels and happy tastings!! When are you back in Brisbane?
Have a brilliant spring week there

Why don’t we have stand alone chocolate shops like this? There is one in Sydney in Martin Place, but one in Brisbane would be good! Thanks Roz.

We have to settle for Cadbury’s here in Hobart for fresh chocolate bars. Just doesn’t quite hit the mark. Have a few dark chocolates for me, Roz! Thanks for the tease! :o) Kenny
