Pompidou at night

We went to the Night of the Museums on Saturday night and revisited of some of our favourite artworks and then looked into one of the current temporary exhibition.

Leger painting and cleaner (artist)

The sculptures are outdoors and standing on water. It was a good opportunity to photograph the sun setting over Paris.

Marc Chagall

There was a performance artist walking the gallery dressed as a cleaner, everyone was laughing at his patter but of course we could not understand him, he spoke very fast so that is our bad luck.

Restaurant on the top floor, the outside area is glorious on a summery day or balmy evening.

Daniel Spoerri

One of the series of this artist recording his meals, Spoerri has a reputation for his interest in food, having had a restaurant in his career. A few years back I took my tour group to visit his sculpture park in Seggiano Italy so I am always pleased to come across his work.

Art corridors.

Christo wrapped package on a table

Master after master.

A provocative work by Balthus of a friend’s wife. The painter signed his work simply but was Count Balthasar Klossowski de Rola.

Henri Matisse

Remember that Queensland Art Gallery will have a major show from this gallery opening in June 2011.

Thanks again for sharing, Roz! This makes it all worthwhile for you and John after putting up with the grind of traveling there. Keep that camera working for us! Cheers, Ken and Sheila
