A welcome in Bath, UK

There is a great deal of uniformity in the architectural styles of Bath but when you look closely there are many individual designs and personal flourishes that distinguish the homes here. Take the glass windows above the front doors in The Royal Crescent and the Circus. I do hope the people of Bath don’t mind my taking photos but they have made an effort to create warm welcoming front doors and entries.

From the outset they all appear uniform but if you have eagle eyes as I do the styles vary. Here are some of the beautiful variations all within a few minutes walk around here.

This was the only unsightly plumbing we saw at any front doors. The arch doorway and rosettes around the door made up for the incongruous pipes.

I love Bath. I didn’t spend a lot of time there. It needs another trip.
