The big reno project goes on and we are nearly over it all but of course we cannot get over it until the fat lady sings!
The new bathroom is coming along very slowly, the floor tiles were grouted yesterday and the wall tiles are being grouted today, thank goodness it is not our only bathroom as it is the slowest bathroom renovation in our history of renovating. I can report that it is further advanced than this picture and the new frieze of glass and stainless steel mosaic tiles are up. White large ceramic wall tiles laid in a horizontal pattern and black tile floor also horizontally laid so I am banking on it looking like it is twice the size that it really is.
We are even working outside. The big pond at the end of the pool is so overgrown with iris plants that a jackhammer would have been the ideal tool but in the end old fashioned pick and shovel had to be employed. Cannot wait to post the ‘after’ photo.
At long last one of the camellia’s I planted 15 years ago has decided to flower, probably because we removed a gigantic tree in the back garden that was casting too much shade. I originally planted 3 camellias along the fence line and one died so there were two. I am getting 10 new camellia’s so from now on I am expecting lots of fresh camellia flowers bringing me joy inside .
This is all going to happen when the landscaping team comes in tomorrow to make sense of the small back garden that is in desperate need of an overhaul, so no doubt it is going to be like one of those TV garden makeover shows when they charge full steam at the job. Only difference is we are paying for it. Roz
