Joachim Frose is a photographer and artist who appears to have been working prodigiously for some time here in Australia under the radar, at least to the general art going public. Based in Brisbane and returning frequently to his second home in Germany, his work is not only engaging but it is at times ingenious and his Rhopography series links photography with Dutch and Spanish still life painting. Rhopography – it is a new term for me! You can see him at the QUT Art Museum in Brisbane until 16 August 2009.
